Wimbledon's Fox and Grapes pub has been awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2012 Michelin Guide.
The award goes to establishments that offer good food at a moderate prices.
The pub, a local institution based on the edge of the Wimbledon Common, has been taken over by Claude Bosi, a Michelin-starred chef.
Offering traditional fare with a twist (snail lasagna was on the menu when I went), I was interested to see what was being offered for the Christmas lunch, which costs £32 for three courses and a luxury cracker.
Options include chestnut soup with port cream, free-range turkey, with chestnut and apple stuffing and truffle sauce, and Christmas pudding or sherry trifle for dessert. So, traditional fare is available, but there are also choices for the braver including braised ox cheeks or a lighter alternative, poached halibut with champagne sauce.
Read my review from earlier in the year and let us know at Wimbledon People what you think of the food at the Fox and Grapes.
