Councillor Krystal Miller takes Mayor's seat

Conservative Councillor, Krystal Miller has been nominated to become Merton's Mayor for next year.

Councillor John Sargeant from Merton Park Ward Independent Residents will serve as Deputy Mayor.

Councillor Krystal Miller said:"I am very excited about the prospect of becoming Mayor and greatly honoured to have been chosen by my colleagues."

"I will place a strong emphasis on volunteering as the Borough's First Citizen. I want to support Merton's charities and businesses by promoting the best of what we have to offer to those outside."

Councillor Debbie Shears - Leader of the Conservative Group in Merton - said: "I am delighted to nominate Councillor Krystal Miller to the position of Mayor Elect for next year."

"She brings with her an incredible energy and enthusiasm for the job. I am confident she will be an excellent first citizen of the Borough."
