Police say they are increasingly concerned for the safety of a 12-year-old Merton girl who has been missing since Friday.
-
Missing schoolgirl Tia Sharp.
-
Tia, 12, was wearing glasses when she was last seen.
-
Friends of Tia have used Twitter to appealed for information.
Tia Sharp from the Pollards Estate in Mitcham, who is believed to be a pupil at Raynes Park High School, was last seen leaving the home of her grandmother Christine Sharp in New Addington, south London at around midday on Friday.
She had been expected to take the bus to the shopping centre in nearby Croydon to buy flip-flops.
Tia only had £10 on her and no mobile or travel card.
Detectives believe she may have tried to hitch a lift.
Police have so far been unable to recover any CCTV footage of her movements, and are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Officers have also searched a wooded area near where she was last seen.
On Monday night her uncles were at a press conference appealing for the public to contact them with any information.
Her family and friends are using Twitter and Facebook to help raise awareness of Tia's disappearance.
Please call 999 if you have any information which may be able to help police.
