Merton Councillors are meeting tonight for a budget meeting.
Merton Conservatives have said: "They will also be putting forward evidence showing the cuts Labour wants to make to frontline services are both unfair and unnecessary.
Councillor Deborah Shears, Leader of the Conservative Opposition has alerted the fact that despite Labour's talk of the need for cuts, gross spend by the Labour Council has actually increased by £36,517,000 since it took power in 2010.
Meanwhile, Merton Lib Dems have said they're pleased with the fact that Merton Council may do a u-turn on cutting funding for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
But, Lib Dem lead councillor Iain Dysart also says: "Cutting the budget for road repairs is a complete false economy. Failure to sort non-urgent repairs involves unacceptable risk of larger, more costly, repairs becoming necessary"
The draft budget will be presented to councillors at a meeting of the full council tonight.
