Police hunt Morden Park sex attacker

Police are hunting a man who they believe has indecently assaulted a number of women in the Morden area.

The attacks, which occurred between November 22 and 29, in and around Morden Park, may be linked.

The victims have described their attacker as being white, in his 20s, slim, of average build and with short, dark hair.

The suspect has attacked at different times of the day. He has

approached women and indecently assault them. On some occasions he has

also indecently exposed himself.

A police operation is underway that

includes both uniform and plain clothes patrols supported by local Safer

Neighbourhood teams.

A 22-year old man has been arrested in connection with this

investigation and enquiries continue whilst he remains in custody. There

have been no charges.

Detective Inspector David Cox, leading the

investigation said: "In the last week or so five women have been

assaulted or frightened by this man and we are determined to find him

and prosecute him. I would like to hear from anyone who has information

about this person and I am particularly interested to hear from any

other woman who may have been effected and not yet told us."
