A man's been arrested, suspected of selling stolen bikes at Wimbledon Sunday Market.

It's after members of the public contacted police with their suspicions.  Investigations later revealed that there were 20, suspected stolen bikes at the mans house.

Another stall at Wimbledon Market was also shut down after a man was selling stolen mobile phones.

Merton Police say they're running Operation Blitzen on the run up to Christmas.

It's a scheme to reduce the amount of retail crime in the area.

Merton Borough Commander, Darren Williams said: "24 people have been arrested this week during Op Blitzen - some of them as a direct result of information the public has given to us"

Op Blitzen will run right up to Christmas Eve and is a combination of uniform and plain clothes patrols.

If you have any information that may assist us to make this the most crime free Christmas ever in Merton please get in touch via 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous on crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
