I agree. I was sitting in a queue of 5 cars today at about 12.30pm waiting for 15 minutes for them to make a delivery. Had the driver parked 3 feet closer to the site entrance, all of the cars could have got through a gap and left the road - but this suggestion was met with a shrug & a repeated statement that they'd only be a few more minutes. My husband called the building company to complain and was called back by the site manager. He advised that cement deliveries finish tomorrow (Weds 26th Oct) however he did say that there will be a further NINETY deliveries of materials in the coming weeks as building of the first floor commences! We'll never leave our road again!
It's bad enough that they have taken up one whole side of the pavement with the hoardings and white van parking without prior warning or notice (so the children have to walk in the road unnecessarily or cross our road twice just to get to Tesco) but the fact that they have a blatant disregard for the needs of the residents is quite frankly infuriating. What would happen if someone needed an ambulance? If anyone would also like to contact the Site Manager, please let me know as I have his office & mobile no.
John Sergeant - one of our Ward Councillors - visited the building site at the top of Sandringham Avenue yesterday afternoon and agreed there is a danger to pedestrians, particularly children. This is an achievement and gives me real hope that they will properly assess the situation and see what a danger the building works and the loading bay are to the end of our road. Apparently Merton CPZ have had the loading bay issue brought to their attention and are planning to assess the situation as well. Well done residents of Sandringham....
