Three new shops have appeared in Wimbledon Village.

Sweaty Betty, on the High Street, next to the Light Café, is a renowned exercise and leisure wear retailer.

Cubs, on Church Road, sells a lovely selection of shoes for children.

And, The Lawn Bakery, on the High Street, an arm of the successful Lawn Bistro restaurant is replacing the old Village Bakery. It will be an upmarket French style bakers, offering champagne breakfasts, among other delicacies. It opens on Bank Holiday Monday.

The decor, etc is an improvement but I preferred it the way it was! Prices have now gone up and they no longer sell jam doughnuts! We have enough of these types of shops (albeit it is nice to see an independent one instead of another nero/costa/paul/starbucks-type).
